Services

Our normal treatment programme starts with an assessment of the child, to determine the nature of the problem and the potential for improvement. It then continues with a course of Targeted Training, if appropriate, and continual assessment of progress.
Foundation

The Movement Centre is the operating arm of The Movement Foundation. The Centre provides treatment for children. The Foundation provides the charitable support, raises funds, and is the overarching management structure.
Case Studies

We present a number of case studies to illustrate the approach that we take and to demonstrate the level of improvement that can be achieved in suitable cases.
Support us

Some of our patients receive funding from the NHS but we are not an NHS body and cannot help children to greater mobility without contributions from others. Please consider making a donation, however small, or perhaps you might consider a legacy?

When WO2 Colin Judge rang us to say that he and his colleague Lt Martin Pickles from RAF Shawbury were going to a remote part of Scotland for 2 weeks with no food, water or shelter, we thought they were mad! It was after all early March with the prospect of heavy snow.
They set off by helicopter and 3 hours later were dropped at Barrisdale on the west coast of Scotland. For 2 weeks they survived on shell fish – mussels, crabs, cockles and prawns and water from a nearby mountain.Their bed was a hammock tied between 2 trees.
Two weeks later and 3 stone lighter they set back to Shawbury but unfortunately the weather was so bad that the helicopter could not reach them. It took a long walk, a fishing boat, a train and a hire car before they were finally able to rest in their own bed.
Colin and Martin raised a massive £1,788.75 for The Movement Centre and kindly dropped the cheque off by helicopter much to the delight of the staff, patients and the local nursery children!
So a very big thank you to Colin and Martin and all at RAF Shawbury!

Once again the Awards party was a fantastic day, with many of the children who completed a course of Targeted Training in 2011 attending . Certificates were presented to the children because all of their achievements were amazing.
The Lady Sue Trevor award, which is given to the family who made the biggest contribution, was this year presented to the Robin’s family. Eden has been helped by The Movement Centre and because her family were so impressed with her improvement they raised over £10,000 for us!
Nigel Edwards from Craft Foods (Cadbury) very kindly joined us and donated 40 Easter eggs for the children and also a HUGE hamper of chocolate for the raffle, which raised over £170.
Once again a brilliant day and we look forward to next year!
