Outcomes

We present a number of outcome measures that demonstrate the results of Targeted Training. If you click on the headings you will find a detailed explanation of each measure, with quantitative summary data. If you need further information, please contact us.

Chailey Levels of Ability

Applying the Chailey method of assessment demonstrates an improvement in all postures. It is interesting to note that, although the ‘upright’ postures of floor sitting, box sitting and standing show improvement as might be expected with Targeted Training, there is also improvement in supine and prone lying abilities.

Edinburgh Visual Gait Score

This measure demonstrates an increase in the normality of walking both barefoot and with orthoses, following Targeted Training.

Fifteen Years of Targeted Training

The Movement Centre has now been operating for 15 years. This paper reviews the excellent outcomes obtained by Targeted Training during that time. The Movement Centre holds the view that these achievements are unparalleled by any other therapeutic approach.

Functional Outcomes with Targeted Training

This paper shows that, for the majority of children, results achieved with Targeted Training clearly exceed what might have been expected with ongoing conventional physiotherapy input.

Segmental Assessment of Trunk Control

This paper demonstrates an improvement in trunk control across all ability levels through Targeted Training, which provides a basis for progress in functional activities.

Pediatric Evaluation of Disability Inventory

This paper demonstrates that patients that have completed Targeted Training gain an increase in independence and become less reliant on their caregiver.
