Penny Butler

Penny is the Director of The Movement Centre and physiotherapy lead. Penny is co-originator of Targeted Training (together with Richard Major, a trustee of The Movement Foundation). Penny’s particular interest is in the biomechanics of movement control and in developing techniques and methods to bring about improvement in patients with control difficulties.

Rhona Avery

Rhona is the Business Manager at The Movement Centre and joined the team in January 2011. Rhona is a Chartered Management Accountant and has a background in business and finance. She is responsible for the non clinical side of the charity.

Sarah Bew

Sarah qualified as a physiotherapist in July 2009. During her training she spent time at The Movement Centre and we were delighted to welcome her back to join the staff. Sarah is able to help keep us updated with the most recent ideas and the latest ways of managing movement problems.

Lynne Ford

Lynne’s background is as a trained Nursery Nurse and she has worked with children of all ages. She has now taken the role of Technical Instructor at The Movement Centre. This means that as well as helping with assessment and administration Lynne has her own case load of children.

Meryl Jones

Meryl is an experienced Medical Secretary whose main role with The Movement Centre is as Personal Assistant to Dr Penny Butler, clinical reporting of children who attend the Centre and general administration.

Ellen Thompson

Ellen is a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist involved in the assessment and treatment of children at The Movement Centre. Ellen has wide-ranging physiotherapy experience, and has specialised in the areas of learning disability and paediatric orthopaedics.
