
Johnny Wilkes
Johnny joined The Movement Centre in December 2020 as The Chief Executive Officer. Johnny served for 29 years in the British Army where he reached the rank of Major. After leaving the service Johnny assumed the position of Chief Financial Officer & Head Office Manager with an insurance broker based in Jordan serving clients operating throughout the MENA region. Thereafter, Johnny joined a European based NGO specialising in the investigation of war crimes across the globe where he spent 7 years as the Finance Manager dealing with multiple grants from Western governments and the EU.
Johnny has recently stepped down as CEO but will now take up an advisory role for The Movement Centre.
Johnny is an avid football fan and is a season ticket holder at Shrewsbury Town and is also a regular visitor to Anfield when he can get tickets! Johnny is a real family man and enjoys keeping fit and in particular mountain biking.

Julia James
Julia is a retired physiotherapist who has had many years experience working in both the NHS and the private sector.
Her first involvement with TMC was when she assisted in a research project with Dr Penny Butler, some 15 years ago. Shortly after that she was asked to be a Trustee, and continued in that role until 2019, when she retired.
Julia is on hand to advise on physiotherapy issues and to give whatever support she can to continue the valuable work that TMC does.

Gabor Barton
Gabor Barton (MD PhD) is Professor of Clinical Biomechanics at Liverpool John Moores University.
Gabor has worked in the area of biomechanics research at Liverpool John Moores University since 1993, and has run the NHS clinical gait analysis laboratory of Alder Hey Children’s Hospital where he tested the movement of hundreds of children to inform corrective surgical interventions. He has a particular research focus on virtual rehabilitation aiming to improve the selective movement control of children with smart games. He is also performing clinical gait analysis coupled with research for all patients in the UK with alkaptonuria, a rare genetic disease leading to early osteoarthritis. Gabor collaborates with Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and the National Alkaptonuria Centre in Liverpool, he is an Advisor to The Movement Centre in Oswestry and trustee of the Vincent Foundation.
