Physio Presents to Thousands

25th July 2017

Earlier in the year Sarah visited Texas and we wanted to share her story.

The Combined Sections Meeting (CSM) is an annual conference for all American Physiotherapists. The 2017 CSM was held in San Antonio, Texas on 15-18th February and brought together more than 14,000 professionals from around the nation. There were many presentations throughout the four days by all 18 of American Physical Therapy Association’s (APTA’s) specialty sections.

Sarah, one of our Physiotherapists was asked to present at the conference in February. Sarah said “I was fortunate enough to be invited to present alongside two of my American Colleagues Sandy Saavedra PT MS PhD, Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy at the University of Hartford. Plus, Danielle Bellows PT MHS PCS, Paediatric Clinical Specialist at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, Hartford.

All three talked the audience through their presentation.

Sarah continued “We gave a presentation on “Targeted Training for head control.” Over 800 professionals attended our presentation which made me a little nervous to say the least. However, feedback after the event was very positive.”

Sarah, whilst in Texas, also had a chance to visit the Exhibit Hall which featured more than 300 companies showcasing the latest and greatest in products and services available to physiotherapy professionals. She also had the opportunity to view posters and to learn about the products, services, and technologies. Sarah stated “It was a great way to enhance my practice”.

It is great that The Movement Centre have these opportunities to spread awareness, so we can help more children.
